She's the daughter of a rock star, so when Liv Tyler pitched up in a fierce outfit at The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey premiere in New York City last night, it was only half expected.

The stunning 35-year-old model doesn't even star in the film, but managed to steal the limelight in her black ensemble on the red carpet which showcased her infinite pins.

Liv successfully drew everyone's attention to her as she arrived in a black satin playsuit with a matching blazer, teamed with sheer black tights to accentuate her catwalk legs and red platform sandals for a pop of vibrant colour.

The sultry brunette model and actress graced the event held at the Ziegfeld Theatre with her androgynous yet sexy look, adding a slick of red lipstick to compliment her shoes with her hair styled in flicked out waves.

And despite many stars such as Rihanna and Kim Kardashian going for the all-black look of late, Liv thought she'd mix up the favourite autumn/winter trend by adding a Christmassy vibe.

Liv was joined by The Hobbit star Elijah Wood as he makes a return to the big screen as Frodo, also making a striking appearance on the red carpet.

The 31-year-old actor wore a dapper Black Fleece by Brooks Brothers suit paired with an Oxford cloth shirt and tie, wearing his piercing icy stare as his key accessory.

The Hobbit will hit cinemas worldwide from December 12.
