Victoria Beckham speaks about winning the Designer Brand Award at the British Fashion Awards

The big news from the glittery British Fashion Awards last night is that Victoria Beckham was overcome with emotion after accepting her gong for Designer Brand of the Year from her close friend and superstar designer Marc Jacobs. Im so nervous she began, before a few tears leaked out, and she apologised to the audience at the Savoy Theatre, saying Im sorry Im being so rubbish Ah.

Backstage she explained why she had felt so moved 'It really does mean so much, that's why I got so emotional when I was up there. I can't thank my team enough. Without them I wouldn't be in this position. I always dreamed this would happen one day, so it really is a dream come true. This is such a big deal for me. I'm just really overwhelmed, and trying to keep it together and speak, and then I just came bursting out crying.'

Then she told reporters that the trophy would come in handy for the kids to take to school for show and tell

Christopher Kane was absolutely beaming from ear to ear with his trophy for New Established Brand we were so pleased for him. He was also excited to have just found out the news that his sister and business partner, Tammy is expecting a baby!

Her sheer polka dot dress, the Lucia, is arguably this year's most flashbulb-friendly dress and has been worn by celebrities including Susan Sarandon and Liv Tyler It means that everyone in my team, everyone who has worked so hard, has won an award!

Charlotte Olympia who took the prize for Accessory Designer of the Year told us about how strange accepting the award was. We asked her if she had prepared anything to say and she replied; No, you just get up there and thank everyone you need to thank but added that the hardest part is not being able to see anyone in the audience. Youd think youd like to look at someone to focus on but you cant. A number of ladies were wearing Charlottes amazing colourful platforms to the ceremony, including Samantha Cameron.
