Benedict Cumberbatch has become a sex symbol

Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch has sparked rumours that he's dating American actress Liv Tyler.

They were seen leaving Hollywood's Arclight Cinerama Dome together on Tuesday, just 48 hours after they'd partied at a post-Emmys party.

They both dressed down for their evening out, with Liv, 35, wearing a stripy top and trainers and Benedict, 36, sporting a hoodie.

It's thought the pair will star together in a new film adaptation of Scott Organ's play Phoenix.

However, a rep for Benedict tells the Daily Mail: 'They're not dating.'

Liv broke up with musician husband Royston Langdon in 2008 and Benedict split from actress Olivia Poulet after a 10-year relationship last year.

Benedict has since been linked to art designer Anna Jones and Russian model Katia Elizarova.
