Titillating lips in tangerine

From catwalks to red carpets, citric bright colours are everywhere right now and they are going to stay with us all the way through summer.

And with the likes of Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester and topmodel Heidi Klum turning on the heat with this vibrant shade, its time to get in on the action.

So get fruity and make your pout pop with these easy to follow tips from make-up artists to the stars Lisa Eldrige.

This look is mainly geared towards olive and dark skin tones but can easily be adapted to suit paler skin, Lisa described on her website LisaEldridge.com. The key thing when youre looking for orange tones for dark skin is that you need them to be very rich and brighter than you think because a lot of these peachy oranges can look ashy on dark skin. If you can, always try before you buy.

Lisa, who has painted the faces of Katy Perry, Liv Tyler and Kirsten Dunst amongst others, explained you need only two products to create the perfect pout.

She advised to apply your chosen shade with a brush, before using lip liner to alter your natural lip shape if necessary.

Start by applying a thin layer of Fashion Fair lipstick in Ole Orange with a Bobbi Brown Lip Brush all over your bottom and upper lip. If you need a bit of extra help with your lip shape then use a matching pencil, blot and make any adjustments you need to make - if not just follow your natural lip line, she said.

The beauty pro also explained how to complement standout lips with a subtle blusher. Lisa recommended to keep cheeks naturally glowy to avoid clashing colours with your citric kisser.

Bobbi Browns Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks in Calypso Coral is a beautiful peachy, coral shade. Gently blend in the colour with a foundation brush, starting on the apples of the cheeks and work your way outwards from there, making sure all the edges are blended. Blusher almost needs to look as if its coming from within and using a foundation brush really helps to soften off those edges, she explai! ned. Add a little contour with Tom Fords Shade and Illuminate by applying it just under your cheekbone with a Suqqu Cheek Brush and make sure it is seamlessly blended with the blusher so you dont see where the contouring begins and ends.
